Quickie Song for Today- Both Those Things (by me)



Its so strange. All of the sudden I can not stop making up songs. Its like I constantly have music and lyrics dancing around in my brain.
Well, I'm not going to analyze it.
Its fun, though it can distract me at work. Kind of a lot.

Anyway
I love being a human.
I love emotions.
I totally understand why Spok couldn't go full Vulcan. As much as emotion can get in the way of logic and can make things a little messy, it is a wonderful thing. I wouldn't give it up. I would rather give up my intellect than my emotions. Or my looks. Or anything else. Because as long as I can feel and I can love I'm always going to have something to live for, something driving me. If I didn't care about anything or anyone and nothing affected me, I would never DO anything. I would just sit there punching numbers into a computer or something. You would hug me and I say things like "Does not Compute." I'd be a robot. How terrible would that be....

    I agree that emotions are a wonderful thing, though without intellect we would never be able to perceive, let alone hope to explore “the final frontier”, which is something that strikes me as equally as terrible as joyless hugs.

    Though, the paradox is of course that without emotion we would not even have a sense of what is terrible and what is not. And as you point out, we may also lack the drive to utilize our intellects to their fullest extents. So to me it is one of those things where each aspect compliments the other; they are best enjoyed together rather than apart.

    By the way, keep your singing up!
